Glasfryn Parc EnglandBy Elizabeth Grant

It’s never easy organizing a family holiday that keeps the kids happy and gives Mums and Dads some peace and quiet – but luckily there are loads of options that will allow you to do both.

Whether you want to try something adventurous or take a walk on the wild side, there are great ways to get something exciting booked for the summer, not all of which have to cost you the earth!

Motorsport fun for all the family

Some kids just love the idea of motorbike racing and while there is always the option to get them their own off-road bike, this can be expensive and you’ll need to think about extras like motorcycle insurance. However, there is an easier way. There are centres up and down the country that offer a safe place for kids to try their hand at motorsports all supervised by experienced staff.

One such place is Glasfryn Parc, which offers go karting and quad biking, as well as wakeboarding, archery, kayaking and fishing. The centre is situated close to a number of British holiday hotspots too and is a short drive away from Abersoch, Pwllheli and Llanbedrog.

Farm Houses and Safari Parks

When it comes to kids, you can’t go wrong with farm houses and safari parks. This is the kind of holiday which will not only appeal to them though – as there is plenty to do for animal lovers of all ages. There are several safari parks in the UK, including:

  • Knowsley Safari ParkSituated in the outskirts of Liverpool, this is a great place to visit with your whole family. The children will love the vast variety of animals there and the best part is most aren’t even caged! Which means you can see the lions and tigers close up as they stroll right by your car.
  • Longleat Safari and Adventure ParkA multi-million pound new attraction in the UK that has everything from an incredibly popular meerkat enclosure to a bird house with brightly coloured rainbow lorikeets and its very own Monkey Temple.
  • Knowle Farm – Set on the outskirts of the Devonshire countryside with six beautiful converted barns overlooking the farm, this is an excellent place to go with the family because it has something going on all year-round
