While Las Vegas can certainly live up to its “Sin City” nickname, that doesn’t mean you have to cross it off your list of family vacation spots. Las Vegas offers a vast array of wholesome entertainment, amazing sights, and family-friendly attractions in addition to fabulous lodging options, many of which offer family activities or—should you need it—affordable childcare.

 Lodging

Some of the most popular accommodations for family travelers include Circus Circus, Excalibur, The LVH, and Stratosphere, all of which are located close to a huge array of family- oriented shows and activities. Mandalay Bay offers the incredible Shark Reef (kids under 4 free) as well as the Mandalay Bay Beach attractions. As far as kid-friendly attractions go, however, it’s hard to beat New York-New York, which features its own roller coaster in addition to a half-size replica of the Statue of Liberty, quirky New York skyline decor, and the fabulous Coney Island Emporium.

For families that don’t mind staying off-the-strip, the Station Group casinos—Red Rock, Green Valley, and Sunset Station, to name a few—are extremely popular. All of these are reasonably priced and provide affordable childcare, arcades, and movie theaters for guests of all ages.

Entertainment

Las Vegas is full of entertainment options for the whole family. Be sure to check out the Adventuredome, a gigantic indoor theme park at Circus Circus. Adventurous families will love Vegas Indoor Skydiving, as well as the roller coaster at New York- New York. If you love animals, be sure to check out the Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at the Mirage.

Shows

Las Vegas also offers shows that are fit for the whole family. Children are delighted by the Tournament of Kings at the Excalibur, where knights compete in jousting and sword-fighting while onlookers enjoy an amazing (and gluttonous) feast. Music-loving children love the antics and creativity of Blue Man Group. If you like magic, be sure to check out Lance Burton, Mac King, or Nathan Burton. If you want to be utterly astounded, Cirque du Soleil has multiple offerings. The amazing acrobatics of KÀ and Mystère stun and astound audiences of all ages.
