There are lots people who wouldn’t ever consider spending Christmas away from home. It’s a shame, because winter can be a wonderful time for a holiday. Not only does it tend to be a whole lot cheaper than taking a holiday in the summertime, it allows you to experience your destination in a completely different light. During the Christmas period, many resorts are more relaxed and less frantic. They welcome fewer visitors, so there’s more time for staff to spend on you and your family. Plus, it’s a nice change to be able to spend a Christmas somewhere unique and different.

If you’re currently in the midst of planning a magical Christmas holiday overseas – why not consider a trip to Paris? It’s the perfect place to experience the festive season says travel expert Magali Déchelette. They don’t call it the ‘city of light’ for nothing, you know. It doesn’t matter whether you choose the hustle and bustle of Disneyland Paris or the much quieter streets of Montmartre, you’re bound to find the ideal place to spend your Christmas. Here’s are just a few reasons why Paris is the perfect location for a magical winter getaway with the family.

There’s Nowhere Like Disneyland

>It’s a clichéd option, but it’s clichéd for a very good reason. If you want to give the kids a Christmas that they’ll never forget, take them to Disneyland Paris. It’s a holiday that won’t come cheap, but that’s no surprise. If you’re even considering a Christmas break at Disneyland Paris, it’s fair to assume that you’ve got the cash to flash. Have you ever heard anybody come back from Disneyland Paris and complain about not getting their money’s worth? If you’re struggling with the decision to go, that fact alone should help you to make up your mind. Do remember that a place like Disneyland absolutely will be busier at Christmas time. You might want to think about investing in some FastPass tickets, says Mirror journalist Mel Brodie.

Christmas Is All Around You

Just because you’re on holiday, doesn’t mean you have to give up your home comforts. There’s absolutely no reason why you can’t book an apartment or a holiday cottage instead of a hotel room this winter time. That way, you’ll be able to order a Christmas tree and have it delivered to your accommodation in Paris. It’s a good to ask the owners of an apartment if this is allowed before you go ahead with it – most will be more than happy to accommodate your needs. Don’t make a mess, though! Why not spend Christmas Eve sauntering along the Champs Élysées?  At Christmas time there’s a giant Ferris wheel in the Tuileries Garden. The view across the River Seine is pretty magical, too.

Shop Until You Drop

Not only does France have some of the best food, art and architecture in the world – it also has some of the best shops, too. After 5th Avenue in New York, the Place Vendome in Paris is often considered to be the best shopping district on the planet. The world’s top jewellers all have stores in this region of this city, say the experts at JewelleryLookout.com. Make sure that you drop plenty of hints whilst your other half is in the room. You never know, you might end up with something very special indeed. There’s a square located within the Place Vendome – it’s been used in countless Hollywood movies and welcomes hundreds of world famous faces every single year. At Christmas, it looks utterly remarkable.
