Top 5 Disney Theme Parks
The Walt Disney Company dominates any list of the world’s best theme parks, and rightly so. With exquisite theming and attention to detail, cutting edge ride technology and an extraordinary commitment to customer service, Disney offers some of the best theme park experiences in the world. Disney offers so many parks full of family fun, here are the ones we think are the best.
While few other theme parks compare to Disney’s, which parks truly showcase the best that the company has to offer? Come along for a tour of Disney’s best theme parks and find out!
Located in Orlando, Florida, as part of the Walt Disney World resort complex, Epcot is two theme parks in one; guests can enjoy cutting edge technology at Future World, then take a virtual trip around the world in World Showcase.
Epcot’s World Showcase offers guests the change to visit micro versions of some of the world’s most popular travel destinations. With architecture, art, food and entertainment lifted directly from the host county, each pavilion offers an authentic experience. From Norway to Canada, and China to Japan, you’ll get a sampling of the unique local flavor and culture of each country you visit.
Future World is home to some of Disney’s most innovative rides, including Walt Disney World’s longest and fastest attraction, Test Track. In Future World, you can soar over California, learn about the different ways food is produced, and get a peek at what life looks like “under the sea”. Future World is also home to some of Disney’s most educational and innovative endeavors, and helps secure Epcot a place in the top 5.
4. Disneyland Paris
With a prime location just 40 miles outside of Paris, Disneyland has plenty to offer travelers from around the world. The convenient location makes Disneyland Paris a favorite with travelers from the United Kingdom and all over Europe.
Disneyland Paris offers a look at small town America with Main Street USA, and boasts its own versions of Disney classics including Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Star Tours and Space Mountain. Combining convenience with great rides and attractions, Disneyland Paris is the 4th most visited theme park in the world, and the most popular travel destination in France (the park passed the Eiffel Tower in 2010).
3. Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park, located in Orlando, Florida, combines the best of two worlds. You’ll get a peek at a world class zoo and some of the best rides and shows Disney has to offer.
Whether you want to spend some time watching gorillas and hippos on a quiet forest trail, spot zebras and ostriches from your vehicle on safari or explore the forbidden mountain on Expedition Everest, you’ll find plenty to do in the Walt Disney World’s newest theem park.
Innovative animal enclosures mean you get closer than ever to the park’s live creatures; in some cases you’ll explore habitats without traditional bars or boundaries. Head off on an African expedition with Kilimanjaro Safaris—but don’t be surprised if you have to wait while a zebra or giraffe passes close to your vehicle.
Expedition Everest towers over the park and tempts thrill seekers– just follow the screams if you want to experience Everest for yourself. The park is also home to one of Disney’s best shows – the live musical Festival of the Lion King. If you see just one show while you are on vacation in Florida, the Festival of the Lion King is the one to choose.
2. Disneyland, California
The original is still one of the best, with offerings ranging from the classic Pirates of the Caribbean to the more recent (and newly revamped) Star Tours. The Disneyland Hotel has just had a major makeover, and packs plenty of fun retro style and convenience. Guests staying here also get a few perks, like early admission to the Disneyland theme park.
Disneyland shares many attractions with the Walt Disney World resort, so chances are if you enjoy one, you’ll enjoy the other as well. Disneyland does have a major advantage over her Florida cousin—the weather in California is more predictable, comfortable and consistent than the weather in Florida.
1. Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Florida
If you could only choose one Disney theme park to visit, choose the Magic Kingdom. The Magic Kingdom is pure Disney – from the joyful, service oriented atmosphere to the top notch rides and attractions. The Magic Kingdom offers the ultimate Disney experience, and is the park that other theme parks strive to be.
From fanciful rides to charming characters and compelling shows, the Magic Kingdom is designed to delight guests at every turn. Whether you are planning a trip with your 2 year old son or your 80 year old grandmother, you’ll find something to do at the world’s most popular theme park.
